I have something that is burning in my heart. We are in the middle of the craziest time I have ever seen in my life. We have a disease that is affecting the entire globe! As we are all in a new normal of “shelter in place”, please don’t let this be just wasting time so we can get back to our “old normal”. If we do this we will miss out on an opportunity that I believe God has set before us.
God is wanting to change the world. He is wanting people to know who He is, who He really is. We are the window to show them. If you are a believer in Jesus, this is your time to shine.
Romans 8:18-22 is coming alive before our eyes.
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.”
Romans 8:18-22 ESV
God wants to birth something in His church.
I have a friend that told me about her experience while having her baby. She told me that when the contractions got to the place where she needed to start pushing, after pushing for some time, she felt like she could not keep going. The doctor said to her, “don’t waist the contractions”. The contractions were coming whether she was going to push or not.
Listen, the pain we are all going through is coming whether we want it or not. God is wanting to birth a new day in our world and He wants to use His children to do it. He is offering to us the opportunity to get in on what he is doing. I for one do not want to miss out. But we must push through the pain, and let God change us to be more like Him. This is impossible unless we have an honest relationship with Him. It is time to get real with God, so He can show us how much He loves us and wants to love the world through us. Press into Him with no pretense and no agenda. Let your mask down and bring it all to Him, leave nothing hidden. He wants to see us free from things that have held us for years. He wants to love us in such a way we can’t help but love others.
He is going to do what He has planned whether we are a part or not. I just want to be right in the middle of it. It will mean laying down anything that has our attention more than Him. It will mean a change in our priorities. He is looking for a remnant. Will you let God be in charge of this time in history, your history? Let God birth something new in you, not just for you, but for a hurting world. “For such a time as this”. Esther 4:14
